Students are expected to attend each school day and arrive on time.
If a student is absent, tardy, or will be picked up prior to dismissal, please do one of the following:
Call the school office at 425.334.9422 and leave us a message concerning your childâs absence or tardiness.
Text or Email your studentâs Supervisor directly, based on preference given by the Supervisor in their âWelcomeâ messages.
Directory information is available in the school app.
Please be advised that Supervisors are busy working with your students in the Learning Center. Please give as much notice of early pick ups as possible. Short notice may result in your student(s) not being ready for pick up at the desired time.
If there is no note, call, or email, or if the reason is determined to be insufficient to warrant an absence or tardy, it will be classified as unexcused.

ABSENCE
If you know that your student will be absent for future dates, please contact their Supervisor directly so that a plan may be put in place to work ahead in their goals.
We prefer to make up work a little each day so students may enjoy vacations without daily schoolwork, and they do not return with large amounts of scoring to complete before progressing to the current dayâs goals.
An unexcused absence requires that a student set extra goals to make up for the absence.
An excused absence will require that the Supervisor evaluate the studentâs progress and determine the goals to be set.
Any absences exceeding 10 days per semester are considered excessive and will result in a parent conference. Upon the 11th absence, a detention will be issued. An additional detention will be issued for each subsequent absence.
A student may not qualify for any awards if they miss more than 15 days of school.
Students who did not attend school the day of an extracurricular or sports event/practice, may not participate in the event/practice without confirmed permission from the student's Lead Supervisor.

TARDINESS
A student is considered tardy if they are not in their seat in the Learning Center on time.
This includes turning in any homework from the day before, turning off and placing cell phone and other electronics in designated box or holder, and placing backpack, jackets, etc. in lockers or designated areas based on the Learning Center prior to 8:30.
When a student is five or more minutes late and accrues an unexcused tardy, the time must be made up during the studentâs break time.
Excessive unexcused tardiness (5 or more instances) or excessive excused tardiness (10 or more instances) affects both the student and the Learning Center and will necessitate a conference with the parents and principal, possibly leading to revocation of student privileges and/or other disciplinary action.
It is important that any medical appointments be scheduled after school. If this is not possible, a student may leave with permission and not be counted absent if they return within 2 hours. If a student misses more than 2 hours of school within a school day, they will be considered absent.
